Inspiring Jews Today: Mothers of the hostages

When their children were taken, Rachel Goldberg-Polin (mother of Hersh z"l) and Einav Zangauker (mother of Matan) refused to be silent. Rachel carried her son’s photo from Jerusalem to the UN and the White House, making sure leaders around the world saw his face. Einav marched through Israel with other parents, demanding action day after day. Both women have continued non-stop. Even after learning her son Hersh was killed, Rachel has kept speaking out so the world does not forget the others still waiting.

Their courage shows how a mother’s love can outlast fear, grief, and even loss. As hostages prepare to come home, these mothers' voices remind us why we never stop fighting for every life.
